Most people don’t realize how much confirmation bias influences their thinking.
We naturally look for information that supports our existing beliefs while ignoring or dismissing anything that contradicts them. This affects everything from politics and relationships to science and daily decisions. Since our brains prefer consistency, it feels comfortable—but it can also prevent us from seeing the bigger picture or reconsidering our views when necessary.
Recognizing this bias helps us think more openly and make better decisions.
